Riverside County Pest Control Grants & Assistance

Riverside County’s heat makes it a hotspot for ants, roaches, and scorpions. Fortunately, the county offers substantial home rehabilitation grants that can be used to “pest-proof” your home.

If you are exploring state or county relief options before hiring traditional exterminators in Riverside, review the primary programs below.

1) Senior Home Repair Grant (Highly Recommended)

Riverside County offers a Senior Home Repair Grant that provides up to $25,000 to low-income seniors (62+).

• What it covers: “Health and Safety” repairs. If you have a rat infestation caused by roof gaps or broken vents, this grant can pay for the structural repairs to stop them forever.
• Contact: Riverside County EDA Housing Authority at (951) 343-5469.

2) Northwest Mosquito & Vector Control

Serving Corona, Eastvale, Riverside, and Norco. They are your first call for exterior pests.

• Services: Free inspections for rats and mosquitoes. They also focus heavily on “Green” pest control education.

3) Utility Assistance (The “Sealing” Trick)

Riverside is served by SoCalGas and Southern California Edison. Both offer the Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESA).

• Why it matters: This program sends contractors to your home for FREE to seal gaps (weatherstripping, caulking, attic insulation).
• Result: These actions drastically reduce the number of ants, scorpions, and mice that can enter your home from the exterior.
• How to apply: Visit your utility company’s website and search “ESA Program.”

4) Community Action Partnership (CAP) Riverside

CAP Riverside helps low-income families in crisis. While they don’t have a direct “bug spray” fund, they do offer utility assistance and weatherization referrals that can help stabilize your home environment, further assisting with indirect pest exclusion.
