How to use this hub
Pick your city to see a curated shortlist (3–7 companies), pricing snapshots, specialties (ants, roaches, termites, rodents, bed bugs), and contact info. Each city page is updated throughout the year as we verify licenses, reviews, and service coverage.
Our selection methodology
We score each local company on a 100-point rubric:
- Licensing & insurance (must-have): Active CA Structural Pest Control Board license, proper classifications.
- Local focus & coverage: Real presence in the city, clear service map, reasonable response times.
- Treatment expertise: Ants (incl. Argentine ants), roaches (incl. Turkestan outdoors), termites, rodents (roof rats), wasps/yellowjackets, bed bugs, spiders, fleas/ticks.
- Reviews with recency: Weighted toward the last 12–18 months; we look for consistent, specific feedback.
- Pricing transparency: Published ranges or written estimates; fair reservice/re-treat policies.
- Safety & IPM: Integrated Pest Management first; product disclosure; smart prevention, not just spray-and-pray.
- Customer care: Warranty clarity, easy scheduling, tidy technicians, shoe covers in homes, follow-ups.
- Commercial capability (bonus): Restaurants, HOA/multi-unit, schools, healthcare, warehouses.
We do not sell placement on these lists. If a company wins, it’s earned.

What to expect on each city page
- Shortlist: 3–7 vetted companies with quick “best for” tags (e.g., “best for termites in older homes,” “best same-day rodent service”).
- Pricing guide: Typical one-time and quarterly ranges, termite inspection notes, and add-ons (bed bugs, German cockroaches).
- Treatment approach: What IPM looks like locally (soil types, Argentine ant trails, coastal vs. inland patterns).
- Licensing & docs: SPCB license lookup tips; how to read service agreements.
- DIY vs pro: When traps, baits, and exclusion are realistic — and when to call a pro (termites, attic rodents, bed bugs).
Tips to choose the right company (quick checklist)
- Ask for license number (verify with CA SPCB).
- Request a written inspection report with photos and an IPM-based plan.
- Compare warranty terms (re-treat windows, exclusions).
- Confirm pet/kid-sensitive options and prep steps before service.
- Clarify follow-ups (who, when, what’s included).
FAQs
How often do you update these lists?
We review core cities at least quarterly and refresh pricing or coverage changes as we verify them.
Do companies pay to be listed?
No. Placement can’t be bought. We may run ads elsewhere on the site, but the rankings are editorial.
What if a company improved or closed?
Send proof (license updates, new reviews, ownership changes). We’ll re-score and update the city page.
Are these picks suitable for businesses, not just homes?
Yes — where noted. Many top providers have commercial crews and 24/7 service agreements.
Can I DIY instead?
For small ant trails or light spiders, DIY + exclusion often works. Termites, bed bugs, serious rodent activity usually require a licensed pro.
