Our Ranking Methodology (2025)

Each company is scored on a 100-point scale using six weighted factors that reflect real-world reliability, customer satisfaction, and local service quality.
Scores are based on publicly available data from Google, Yelp, BBB, and company websites as of November 2025.

FactorWeightWhat It Measures
1. Review Quality & Volume (35 pts)35%The most influential ranking factor. We assess both the average rating and the number of verified reviews, along with recurring themes in customer feedback (e.g., professionalism, punctuality, long-term results). Larger national brands often collect more reviews, which naturally increases their score. However, the greater the sample size, the more accurate and balanced the overall sentiment becomes.
2. Local Coverage & Response (20 pts)20%Measures how well a company serves your area, including neighborhood coverage, same-day or next-day availability, and local office presence. Companies that respond quickly and maintain broad service reach score higher.
3. Service Breadth (15 pts)15%Evaluates how comprehensive the company’s pest control programs are—covering ants, termites, rodents, mosquitoes, spiders, cockroaches, stinging insects, and more. Both residential and commercial capabilities are considered.
4. Warranties & Transparency (10 pts)10%Focuses on whether companies clearly communicate warranties, re-service guarantees, and written inspection estimates. Transparent pricing and documented results improve this score.
5. Safety / IPM Practices (10 pts)10%Rewards commitment to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and eco-conscious pest control. We look for use of reduced-risk products, pet-safe options, and technician training in environmentally responsible treatment methods.
6. Reputation Consistency (10 pts)10%Measures how stable and reliable a company’s reputation remains across multiple platforms and over time. Long-term review trends, BBB records, and complaint ratios are factored in.

Scoring formula:
Each category is scored from 0–100, weighted by its importance, and combined to form the final composite rating:

(Reviews × 0.35) + (Coverage × 0.20) + (Services × 0.15) + (Warranty × 0.10) + (Safety × 0.10) + (Reputation × 0.10) = Total Score / 100

In summary:
Our ranking system balances quantitative data (ratings, coverage, services) with qualitative insights (review quality, safety standards, and reputation stability).
While larger pest control brands often benefit from higher review volume, this also means their feedback is statistically stronger—producing a more accurate and trustworthy reflection of customer satisfaction.
