The Verdict: 5.0/5 Stars
Blast Pest Control is our #1 pick for “Speed & Emergencies.” Unlike the big corporate fleets that put you in a call center queue, Blast is an owner-operated business known for picking up the phone and showing up.
They are specifically highly rated for Biological Pests like Fleas and Ticks. If you found a tick on your dog this morning, you don’t want an appointment in two weeks—you want Blast.
- The “Marty” Factor: The owner is hands-on and frequently mentioned for outstanding service.
- Speed: Reviews consistently mention “Next Morning” or “Same Day” arrival.
- Pet Safety: Specialized knowledge in Tick/Flea lifecycles.
- Small Team: As a smaller operation, availability is limited to their crew size.
- Scope: They may refer out massive commercial fumigations (tenting).
- Office Hours: Admin support isn’t 24/7 like Terminix.
1. The “Pet Owner” Specialist
Bakersfield has a massive tick season starting in May. Most general pest companies just spray the baseboards and leave. Blast Pest Control is famous for their Yard & Kennel Treatments. They understand that to kill fleas, you have to break the egg cycle in the soil, not just the carpet. Their targeted approach is highly valued by local pet owners.
2. Blast Pricing (Estimates)
Blast offers competitive pricing, especially for one-time “Emergency” clean-outs.
| Service | Estimated Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Flea/Tick Cleanout | $200 – $350 | Includes interior & exterior growth regulators. |
| Bi-Monthly Service | $80 – $100 / visit | Standard maintenance. |
| Emergency Call-Out | Varies | Call for “Same Day” rates. |
3. Real Customer Feedback (The “Marty” Reviews)
We analyzed verified Google Reviews from 2024-2025. The owner, Marty, is a local legend.
“He caught my dog!”
One verified review mentions that Marty not only treated the house but helped catch a dog that ran out of the gate. Another review mentions him coming out the “next morning” to handle a tick found on a cat. This level of personal care is why they have a perfect 5.0 rating.
Availability Risk
The only downside to an owner-operator model is capacity. If Marty and his crew are booked during an active Black Widow season, they are booked.

Frequently Asked Questions About Blast Pest Control
Does Blast Pest Control treat for Ticks?
Yes, this is a specialty. They use a multi-step process that treats both the yard (where ticks breed) and the home perimeter. They recommend treating your pets (via a vet) on the same day for maximum effect.
Is it safe to stay home during Flea treatment?
Usually, you need to leave the home for 2-4 hours while the treatment dries. Blast technicians will provide a specific “Prep Sheet” telling you how to prepare (vacuuming, bagging food) before they arrive to ensure it is pet-safe.
Does Blast serve all of Bakersfield?
Yes, they cover the entire metro area, including Rosedale, Oildale, and the Southwest. They are locally based, so travel time is minimal.
